Default No Specialization mentioned with ASCO code: 175 App

Hello,
I have got my skill assessment done from ACS in May 2009 & received ASCO code 2231-79. Unfortunately no specialization mentioned along with the code.
I applied for Visa under 175 providing all necessary documents along with this skill assessment letter from ACS.
Recently when I have queried for the application status, I have received a mail from immigration stating that :
"As your nominated occupation is not on the CSL and you are not sponsored by an employer or nominated by a State/Territory government in accordance with an occupation on the State Migration plan, your visa application will not be finalised until those visa applications which meet the higher processing priorities are finalised."

I was unaware of the fact that skills assessment which only states the ASCO Code will not receive priority processing.

Now I have no idea how shall I go ahead.
I have following queries :
1) Primarily Is there any provision to submit my skill assessment again so as to reconsider my Visa application for priority processing.

2) Shall I apply for skill assessment again from ACS and get the specialization, since I am specialist in C/C++ which is listed in CSL.?

I must be thankful to you all...

Yes I do have 130 points.
But my skill is not with CSL so my application will not be considered for priority processing.

Here is the sequence of processing...
Under the Ministerial Direction the following processing priorities (with the highest priority listed first) apply:
1. Applications from people who are employer sponsored under the ENS or the RSMS.
2. Applications from people who are nominated by a State/Territory government agency under a State Migration plan agreed to by the Minister.
3. Applications from people who are nominated by a State/Territory government agency and whose nominated occupation is on the Critical Skills List (CSL).
4. Applications from people who are neither nominated nor sponsored in priority groups 1, 2, or 3, but whose nominated occupation is listed on the CSL.
5. Applications from people who are nominated by a State/Territory government agency whose nominated occupation is not listed on the CSL.
6. (i) Applications from people whose occupations are listed on the Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL).
(ii) Applications from people who are sponsored by family and whose nominated occupation is not listed on the CSL.
7. All other applications are to be processed in the order in which they are received.

So my appln should come @ 7th if not in 4th.

Dear Sampath,

I think you have missed the boat. Better try for state migration plan once it comes into effect.

Good Luck,

Fred, F.

Try to get State Sponsorship ASAP (it is hard to get SS without specialization). If you get one, then convert your application from 175 to 176.

If failed, you may withdraw your application and then re-assess by ACS and apply again to DIAC OR simple wait .........till end of 2012??

Dear All,
Thank you for all your inputs..
As you said its hard to get SS without specialization.
So I understand that,
1) I should apply for ACS again and get the specialization.
2) Secondly apply for State Sponsorship and on success convert my Visa from 175 to 176.
But both together takes not less than 6 months if I am not wrong.

One more query here[sorry for repeating...]... Once i get the specialization, do i have option of submitting the fresh skill assessment with specialization, under 175 for priority processing..?

InfoJami,

Glad to see that you are still hopeful for a CSL case.
