New Police Check ?
We applied in May 2001 (hopefully not too long now !!), sent police checks Aug 2001 -
sent English one and a Portugese one as I lived there 89 to 95. We know that we will
need to get a new English police checks as they will have run out by the time our
case gets assessed but does anyone know if we will need to get a new Portugese one,
especially as I haven't lived there for 7 years ???

Hi Terry,
The reason why it's general advice not to frontload your application with police (and medical) checks is, as you know, the checks are valid for only one year from date of issue.
There is a high chance that you will be required to furnish new police certs, even from Portugal, if your DIMIA case officer hasn't come to your case by the expiry of either of your certs.

I posted a similar question a couple of weeks ago, with limited response.
I already have a Zimbabwe police clearance certificate (obtained Feb
2002) and am currently applying for UK police clearance. I have lived in UK for 5
years now.
I intend to send the police clearance certificates with my Migration
Application forms.
So should I obtain a new police clearance from Zimbabwe? Is there any case
history on this?
