Moving to Australia
Hello,
We are in the process of applying for a Visa to Australia. We are going to be sending off the application to TRA next week. My husband is a licenced Sheet Metal Journeyman in Canada and looking at various sites, the equivalent in Australia is 1st Class Sheet Metal. I know that the occupation is on the MODL list and was just wondering how long the process takes.
Also, does anyone have any advice on whether you should look for a job first and go under the Employer Sponsered Temporary visa and then apply for the Skilled Mirgration Visa once you are in Australia.
We have sent our resumes off to an Employment agency in Perth and they are just awaiting our results from the TRA.
Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Moving to Australia
Ensuring all your paperwork is in order, you SHOULD hear something within the month. The TRA website states that skills on the In Demand list take up to 10 days to process.
Hope this helps

Hi and welcome to BE.
The visa process does seem to vary from person to person depending if they have a straight forward case (medicals e.t.c). It seems to take at least 1 year for most people getting a PR visa and some a lot longer. Cannot help with other visa question but someone will come along who can .
