Hi George n Experts,

Im just curious about procedure for awarding MODL points.
AT the time of application or at the time of visa decision ??? I have
got the south australia sponsership recently n my 136 application will
be converted into 137 STNI. I did this coz I was not confident that my
occupation will be in MODL list at the time of visa decision. ( they
update it after every 6 months ).
I heard that according to recent court decision MODL points will be
awarded at the time of visa application. Follow this link....

This is currently DIMIA policy now to award 15 points if yoru occupation is on MODL either at time of application or at time of points assessment (or if it is on at both times of course). Again, this could change so you should confirm with case officer should you come off MODL before being assessed for points. When you get a request for Medicals, advise your case officer you would prefer 136 if the MODL points are now guaranteed - your application is always an application for both 136 and 137 visa so you can tell them which you want right up to just before the visa is granted.
