Missing SurName in Degrees !!!!! Is this an issue?
Hi,
My name in all documents (job + passport) is 'Mansoor Ali Sadiq Sardar' and my degrees have my name as 'Mansoor Ali Sadiq'. 'Sardar' is my family name and my given name is 'Mansoor Ali Sadiq'.
Just curious if this could be an issue? Can some one please share his/her experience in such a case.

I think you need to speak to your university and have your degree fixed.

hmmm, here its not a simple thing to ask a University to change a name or add a surname to degree. Degrees some time include SurName and some time they don't (given what's provided at the time of admission of a student in a school or college).

Well then I guess if it's too much hassle to have it fixed then it doesn't matter if it's an issue.

Most important things in life are not easy. If you re a graduate you must have experienced that. As you state if you have given name excluding your surname, then it's your fault & next, it's your right to ask for a fix....

The statement letter provides stronger evidence than just a statutory declaration.
Don't take my advice without consulting MARA agent who is familiar with ur country education system as evidence of qualification is very important to the success of ur visa application.

I would also assume it is a bit of a problem, how would they know it is you? But if you are not going to try and get it changed anyway then our answers are irrelevant.

I should not think you will find that many people who got their degee cetificates with just their fist name on.

In my case, a statement letter from uni stating the name on cert should be 'name on passport' and a statutory declaration stating the various different names on supporting docs refers to the person with 'name on passport' suffice to get my visa application approved, though with longer processing time, which may be due to the longer verification process on those different names.
I think i have 5 different names on various docs such as tax docs, nat. id card, salary slip, and uni cert due to the length of my name and mistypo. However, DIAC was able to accept those docs - some with just stat. declaration. The most important point is that those documents are issued to the applicants.

You will need to get an Affidavit made (Notarized) to state that your legal name is "XYZ" and that due to an oversight your Degree Certificate is printed as "XY" but both names are one and the same and belong to you.
Also details like your passport number etc should be on there.
A notary would have the required format for the same, get it done and submit it with your file.

Re: Missing SurName in Degrees !!!!! Is this an issue?
Here is a couple of good suggestions
1- Consider changing your legal name to what is on degree....this means your name will be shorter and hopefully you will have less problems in future
2- The naming structure in different parts of world can be different.... maybe (this is just a suggestion) just try to stick with two names, three at the most,...it will make life easy somewhat..
3- Also, if you can not change anything, worry not, you will be fine...immigration knows that naming structure is not the same throughout the world.....actually it reminds me of my room mate in Uni of Engineering & Technology in Lahore, his full name was Mian Muhammad Mushtaq Khalid Khan Kanju.....Take that immigration !!!
so just chill out....
