Craig, where are you? If you are in the UK, Go Matilda in Southampton is highly recommended by BE contributors, and it seems to have branches in - or hook-ups with -agents in Australia too. Alan Collett, who owns Go Matilda, often posts on BE. Another agent (based in Ireland, I think) is Welshtony. He also often posts on this forum as well, and I think he is also first rate.

I have seen posts on BE which suggest that it makes some sense to use an Agent based in the same place as the DIMIA office which would deal with your application, because it saves delays with the post etc.

If you decide to use an Australian-based agent, Westly Russell frequently posts on BE (as Westly) and so does George Lombard. Their clients and ex-clients recommend both of them highly too.

Try searching for posts by all 4, by using their names, I suggest.

Hope this helps

Gill

I apologise unreservedly to Mr Harrop. I have not, myself, come across any posts by him or mentioning him. That is not to say that he isn't equally as good as the agents I mentioned. If I had been aware of Mr Harrop, I would have mentioned him too. Mea culpa.

I would recommend you using the services of a Trades Specialist or a Migration Agent who uses a Trades Specialist.

I recommend, for TRA preparation:

Glenn Newton www.alms.com.au

Or

John Nye www.amsas.com.au

Both are qualified workplace assessors so if you are not a formally qualified Tradesperson, or are having difficulty proviing such, they can assess you against the Australian Framework and issue Australian Vocational Qualifications if you stand up.
