Default Migrating to Oz but Fancy a Trip to India on the way

Hey everyone,

I've had my 136 visa for a few weeks now and have been thinking about where i'd like to stop off on the way. I have always wanted to go to India, so I have taken a look at flights and I can afford to spend at least a month in India before finally flying off to Australia. Now I was just about to pay for my flights today when I had a horrible feeling that I'd read somewhere that there may be a problem entering Australia if you have been to a country that has a certain disease present (I can't remmber which disesase it was for sure but I think it may have been Yellow Fever). Anyway, I've taken a look at the immi.gov.au website again and I can't seem to find the page. Has anyone else heard of any disease restrictions when entering Australia permanently???

Thanks in advance
JonC

Lots of people emigrate to Australia from India. Get the vaccinations your travel agent recommends and you should be ok.
