Default Middle Aged British Family Man ,What are The Chances?

Apologies if this has been asked a thousand times before ,As far as I know I`m to old (47) to get residency or a working visa.?

I`m a British family man with a 44 yr old wife and 8 year old child,we would like to emigrate to Australia to start up a small, 3 - 4 employee business (Ive got 20 years experience in the U.K) ,finances are not a problem , we could buy a home and set up a business without financial assistance.

What would be the best route to take? a business visa?

Thanks In Advance

Rotor

Unless you have a proven track record of running a successful business it's unlikely that you could migrate on a business skills visa. Does your wife have a skill on the SOL?

Take a good long read of www.immi.gov.au and try out the visa wizard to see if you qualify for anything. Then talk to a MARA registered migration agent to see if perhaps there is something they can recommend.

However, be aware that not everyone qualifies for a visa.

If you have been running your own business in the UK for past 20 years(as you state) and you have a proven track record as far as financials etc are concerned then yes..........a Business visa state sponsored 163 may be the one for you.As Dorothy says though, you should look on the immigration website as there you will find all the criteria involved regarding eligibility etc.........at last count, you needed to be under 55 at time of application for this visa but do check.
