Where will we have to go to have Medicals done as we live in France.Also does anyone know where we can go to do the English test,or don't we need to as we have a UK passport?
Any advice would be grateful as it's hard to find out anything here in Brittany even if it's to do with anything french.

If you don't need the points then there's no need to sit the IELTS (you get 15 for having a UK passport) For the meds have a look here: http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/over...el-doctors.htm There's a doctor in Rennes on the list of approved doctors. That'll be your closest.

are you both in france? we'll be going down to bordeaux for our meds as they have just been requested by co. How long have you been here?

When we were researching for our medicals (as we also live in France), I phoned Paris, Rennes and Bordeaux.The Rennes office seemed to be closed and were no longer offering the service, As it was August time and France slows down, the Paris ones didn't have any appointments till October so we went to Bordeaux and got appointments early September. I hope this helps. Just give them all a call they do tend to speak a little English .

We went to Bordeaux for our medicals. All was fine and the Dr was very good. Alot of running around as it is a different place for the x-rays, blood tests and the medical itself.

We flew back to the uk ryanair Dinard - East Midlands and had them done in Huddersfield.
Wasnt' too sure if we had them done in France would we then have to pay for translations!
Huddersfield in the North of the uk were cheaper for a family of 4 than Manchester/liverpool/leeds and York and were very good. Didn't charge again when I had to revisit.
You can also have them done in Jersey but for us we grabbed a quick weekend in the uk.

Can you tell me ,did you need your meds translating after having them done in France?,and if so which translator did you use? We need some accounts to prove hubbie has worked here translating but everyone we contacted so far don't want to do it
Any advice appreciated

No We didn't need anything translated from our medicals as the Doctor did everything in English. He was very well versed with the procedure and both the X Ray centre and the blood test lab also did everything in English.
Do allow plenty of time for the medicals as all three centres are at different places.
The only thing we needed to get translated for our visa was the French Police Checks. We used an English teacher from the local college for this and there were no problems but maybe we were lucky!!!
