We used the one in Handsworth Wood, £500 for the four of us including delivery.

We were seen quite quickly and were there an hour and quarter at most.

Thought I'd mention the fact that Handsworth Wood became VAT registered on 1/9/07 so all of their prices are plus VAT.... so it makes them quite a bit more expensive than they previously were. Plus the courier costs are quite expensive too....
If you are shopping around for the least expensive option it's worth considering all of this. Although, I've come to the conclusion, there's no such thing as a cheap emigration medical!!!

Good post about Handsworth, will defo shop around now for medicals, was considering Handsworth but becoming VAT registered can put an extra £90 plus on the bill for 4 people.

Think you will find that all the medical centres have to charge VAT on private medicals due to Government Changes......

I think that the practice has to be VAT registered to charge the VAT...If the practice is not registered for VAT then you won't have to pay it.....

Or it might be that some practices just quote the price including VAT!

I phoned Selly Park Surgery.

Costs are.....

Adult: £140
Child: £70

Priory Hospital for blood tests and X-rays.
X-ray: £40
Blood test: £24.50

Total for 2 adults and 2 children £549.

Good news is the children don't require blood tests or X-rays, I did not want to put them through the stress of an injection.
