Medical Question
#1
Hi there,
I was wondering if there is a way to find out if a family member would pass the medical to emigrate to Australia, prior to actually applying for a permanent Visa.
My son was born with some medical issues that are currently being rectified (almost there!) and I would rather not waste my time applying if there is no way he will ever pass the medical.
I am Canadian, living in Canada, wanting to move to Australia.
Thanks for any and all help/info you can give!

Basically the point he is at is:
Has a feeding tube surgically in place, main diet is formula through that:
Working on getting him to eat regular foods so we can get rid of the feeding tube: and
May need a procedure or two when he is older.
We are hoping to get him eatting and away from the feeding tube in the next year or so.

To your original question, there really is no way to find out if someone will pass a medical beforehand as HOC Sydney will make this decision not the panel doctor who carries out the medicals. In a situation like this, it definitely would pay to seek the opinion of an agent with particular knowledge of medical issues, they would have a better feel for whether you stand a good chance and would also advise on what tp do to prepare for medicals should you go ahead.
Good luck.

You need to take advice from one of the few agents out there with experience in medical issues ... two that come to mind are Peter Bollard and George Lombard, both in Sydney. Get this advice before you apply to DIAC (be prepared to pay for professional advice).
