Mechanical Fitters
My wife is a midwife so we are appling for a visa under her occupation however thinking about employment for myself;
I served my apprenticeship in the shipbuilding industry as a mechanical fitter working on assembly of pumps, valves etc. but left the trade some 16 years ago, anyone know if I could pick up where I left off or is it a non starter.
I am wondering if any potential employers would recognise the fact that I'm time served, just a bit rusty at the moment.
You never loose the skills but I reckon I would need to go back to college to make myself employable.
I am a firefighter in the UK Fire service now but feel that occupation is a non starter in Oz.
Anyone got any advice or comments about my situation?
Thanks
Graeme
