MBA in australia
hi, I plan to study in Australia for an MBA degree.I have researched a lot on the
internet and there are conflicting reports on the usefulness of an aussie MBA.I am
based in India and would like to settle abroad(mostly aus)and will be investing a lot
of money in this degree and thats why i am concerned also ,these universities have
a wide range of fees, from $12000/- p.a to $38000/- p.a ,so that adds to the
confusion:0 any help will be appreciated

Sir
Suggest you look at the above MBA ratings list, believe the Australian Graduate School of Management is the best in Oz, but is only ranked 67th in the world. IMVHO. I'd always go for one on the top 5 in a country. but in Oz, as they are ranked quie low, try for one of the top 3.
I'm looking at either doing mine full time at AGSM, or in Warwick in the UK on a part time basis.
Hope this info helps.
AGSM
No 1 in Oz FT 2001 & 2002
No 2 in Asia 2002 FT
No 2 in Asia-Pacific 2001 Asia inc
No 12 Outside USA 2001 Forbes

Re: MBA in australia
hi...
I too had researched on that option....Australian MBA(from AGSM and the likes ) is recognised well in Australia and Asia Pacific region but not much beyond that. So it has a more of a regional recognition.
If you are looking at a truly Global career US MBA is the gateway. ...but an expensive one. However if the motive is to get to Aus. then AGSM is good enough and will give you money's worth in Australia and around.

I'm actually doing an MBA (sponsored by my employer) with the University of
Leicester, and at this rate will probably complete it (summer/autumn 2003)before I
get my visa, though I had thought about finishing long-distance if I get the chance
to go earlier. Was a bit dismayed to find Leicester not even on the above list; does
that mean my MBA will be worthless? Hope not, it's hard going to study and also work
full time...

Re: MBA in australia
Are MBAs not recognised in a more common way across the board like Batchelors
degrees are?
I.e. - when I applied to ACS, they said that my degree equates to an OZ degree -
would this principle not be followed though across the board?
I am thinking of doing a parttime MBA at the business school where I work (fees are
waived). I work at Anglia Polytechnic University, and they have a business school
called Ashcroft International School of business.
I am thinking of doing MBA (knowledge management) - specialises a bit in IT related
management and contemporary management.
Can anyone advise me if I will just be wasting my time? "blahblah"
