I guess you did not read my post correctly.

I said that "Someone working for DEEWR implied that not all IT specialisations will remain on the list."

I did NOT say that all 14 computing professional specialisations will be removed.

No. I don't think ".Net Technologies" is too broad. It's not difficult for them to assess. I personally guess it's something else. Maybe should think from assessor's perspective.

I would guess for example a Linux Administrator / Programmer is a reasonable candidate for Linux specialisation but a graphic designer who use GIMP on Linux only should not meet the requirement.

Also, don't you agree Solaris is Unix?

I dont think its something anyone can predict really. Not sure how an ACS assessor thinks as well but I agree with some of your points about how difficult it must be to assess some occupations within IT.
