Default At long last we've got our stuff

We've been in NZ since 27th June and finally our belongings are in our new
home, no thanks to PSS. Has anyone else had any problems with PSS.

What problems have you had?

We are having a quote for the move to Oz plus storage in the UK from PSS and a whole bunch of others this Friday.

Interested to hear what problems you had with them, as I will raise these with their rep.

Was it a sole or shared container load? We were planning on using PSS as well!

They quoted £2500 for up to 528cu.ft shared container. They quoted they
packed. When it arrived it was 775cu.ft. or maybe 715 cu.ft there
documentation said both. There were a lot of half empty boxes and the
furniture which was supposed to be flat packed was left built, and emptied,
the removal team said there was no need to dismantle. OK for the removal
team but it cost me an extra £1200 and they would not release my belongings
until I paid in sterling. So I had to buy sterling to pay them. Lots of
things broken, wedding gifts etc things that you cannot replace. Stainless
steel waste bin looked as if it had been in a rugby scrum. They even packed
broken glass, broken before it was packed it was placed to one side to be
thrown away but it got here.

Did you not expect that time? They have told me that leaving on 30th Oct with 2 weeks storage in UK I will not get the shipment until second week January so it is the normal type of time allowed surely?

The time yes, the damage and extra costs no.

Gee, Steve. It sounds to me like you packed the kitchen sink to take with
you to another country (rubbish bins, glass, etc.)
I would have thought that when you start a new life in another country, you
start fresh, sell all your old stuff and buy new.
Thats what I did anyway. And I didn't have to pay a cent in freight other
than my own airline ticket.

Guess the sole use container starts looking better and better as an option.

We were told - by all companies - that if we wanted anything dismantled - beds etc - we would have to do it ourselves or pay them extra and arrange it first so of course weill be doing it ourselves two or three days before. Anything to save space and therefore money. The same applies to cleaning we shall do it ourselves although they mostly offered to do it at a cost. - bilkes, tools, hoovers etc.

I was in the process of dismantling the furniture and was stopped by the
packing crew saying there was no need to. I thought that may be they thought
the removal would still be under the specified quotation. But no alas it was
just more convenient for the removal crew, they seemed very eager to get
away. They got away a day earlier and I had to pay £1200 extra for the
privilege.....CHEERS LADS!!!!! GOOD ON YA!!!

Hello all, we used Crown Relocation. A whole house load in one container. From Co- Durham to NZ. We had one squashed lamp shade and one broken wine glass. We had 2 guys for 3 days packing up the whole house, however on the second day 2 more guys came to help move the really heavy stuff {juke box etc} into the lorry. We chose Crown for a variety of reasons, they weren't the cheapest, but they do have there own offices in NZ and so don't have to rely on agents. Everything arrived on time, our lawn mower was singled out and we had to pay$50 to have it cleaned by MAF. Crown even came back to the house a couple of weeks later to take away the packling cases that we unpacked ourselves.

Well done Crown
