I read some information on another post about something called a Living Away from Home Allowance for 457 visa holder's. Could anyone give me any furthur information? I mentioned it to the HR department of my prospective employer and she was'nt sure what it was all about, although is happy to speak to anyone who knows about it. I thought if I could find out more info I could pass it on to her.

thanks for that article, it is a big help. Seem's I will be entitled to Living away from Home Allowance, I just need to find out how I go about it now!

You ask your employer - they may agree to it, they may not. Being entitled to LAFHA doesn't equal automatically getting it. My OH got it, people recruited after him didn't.

If they do offer, make sure it's written into your contract or letter of offer.
