Hi I was wondering if someone could help, I am hoping to apply for PR next year, (I am currently here on a temp visa), when my PR has been lodged is it possible to leave the country pending the decision? I have a wedding to go to back in the UK and I will have just lodged my application, cant find any info on immi website.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What kind of temp visa are you on? Spouse, 457, etc ??

I am currently on a Student Visa.

When you apply for PR (subclass 885) you will be granted a bridging visa A which will kick in once your student visa expires. The bridging visa A has a no travel restriction on it so you would need to apply for a bridging visa B (but I think it only allows you to travel due to compasssionate reasons).

If your student visa is still valid when you wish to travel, you'll have no problems. Otherwise, I'd advise speaking to George Lombard (agent) and making usre you don't make a mistake with the bridging visas (it seems to be a grey area).
