Thanks for everyone's advise it means a lot. Although if I did go forward with the visa how much time would that 5500 buy me? Waiting for my case to be seen in the immigration "Last family member visa"

Why would you go forward with the application when you know you will not qualify?

In my eyes I really do hope I qualify although as you can understand the chances of me getting this because of my dad still in the Uk is very slim not forgeting the huge risk at a cost of $5,500.
So it might be money well spent to spend the last remaining time with them.

Your dad is still alive, whether or not you have a relationship with him, and he is not in Australia. Therefore you don't qualify for the visa, no matter how much money you spend.

That $5500 will not buy you any time. You clearly do not qualify for this visa, so it would be denied. Use that money toward your next holiday because unless you qualify for any other visa (skilled, ect) you won't be staying in Australia.

No the chance of you not getting this visa is not "slim". It is "zero".

The money could be put to better use in a holiday fund visiting family.
