At Last!!

At Last!!
Just found out from our Agent this morning that we have the Visas!!! Our validation date is by 21 July 2004 which happens to be our daughter's birthday!
We applied in November 2002, Skilled Independent - 50 weeks - MY A*SE!
Feeling happy, sad, scared and brave all at the same time.
Got a feeling I'm gonna be incoherent by 9.00pm.

Re: At Last!!
Congratulations. Must be a great feeling for you. I think you deserve a glass or two of the cold stuff for such a long wait.
Enjoy Australia. I hope it exceeds you expectations.

Re: At Last!!
Congratulations on your visa.
Your timescale is fairly typical of the average for non-priority cases -
closer to 15 months than 12 currently.

Re: At Last!!
Well done, and good luck.
I applied under skilled independent in March and was supposed to get my visa in December 2003, but my Agent did not send vital paperwork and thus delayed the application.
Can't be too much longer, need warm weather.

Re: At Last!!
Go Business class if you don't like flying, might ease the pressure a bit.
Try Royal Bruni, cheapest business class I know of.

Re: At Last!!
I have read good reviews about them but the main reason why they are not well used and so cheap is that they do not supply booze on the plane, but you can bring your own.
I will be using them when my visa comes (thinking positivly) the total cost comes to £2,800 for 2 adults and a child with their own seat.

Re: At Last!!
Congratulations! I applied on the 1st of November and got my pre-visa
grant in the new year around 8th of January, definetly + 50
weeks....going to Auckland from Sydney tommorrow to get the visa..!
Just can't believe how the progression worked from a student visa in
1998 to a 457 work visa to residency...was quite aware what I was
working towards by the time I had my work visa.
Been quite incoherent most of the week..saving the finale for
Auckland...
good luck!
