Just starting the long process

Just starting the long process
Any advice and tips on how and where to start the long gruelling process of visa applications? I know visas are suspended until the end of July but I thought if we could get a jump start on the process before then (like medicals etc) then I'm happy to do that.

What visa are you applying for?

175 skilled but we're waiting for the new SOL. Fairly confident in one respect as my partner had a possiblity of 4 of the jobs on the previous list (10 yrs experience and highly qualified) so hopefully when the new list is revealed we'll be ok with that but I have health issues so that's going to be a hurdle to get over.
Any advice is welcome

I would strongly suggest NOT getting medicals and police checks until they are requested. If you do them now, it's a possibility that you will be sitting in a queue for more than 12 months by which time the medicals and police clearance certs are invalid and need re-doing - at great expense.
Get a start on collating all your documents - birth certs, marriage certs, qualifications etc.
Good luck.

Concerning your health issues, again very difficult for anyone to say anything at all without having an idea of what kind of health issues you are referring to. I have seen plenty of people worry about having asthma, high blood pressure or having a BMI of 30, if that is the case I am sure there are plenty of people that can provide some reassurance. If it is something more serious then the answer is going to be quite different.
There is certainly no point making a start on police checks or going for medicals, but I would advise somebody with potentially serious medical concerns to discuss with an agent specialising in this area at an early stage to avoid disappointment later.
