Default July 2005 - 136 non MODL Anyone?

Hello,
DIMIA received my application on 28 july 2005.
Acknowledgment - 3 August 2005
Still waiting for medicals and PCC request.
It seems the current processing time for 136 non MODL is a little less than 7 months. How disappointing. They mentioned in the acknowledment that this will be with in 4 months.
Any comments?
Tom

I'm MODL Tom, but haven't had the requests yet - although I submitted a month later than you.

The thing that's worrying me is that others on my timeline seem to have had their requests, so I'm wondering whether there may be a problem with the application.

Jeremy posted on here a while back that one of the main reasons for being denied a 136 visa is not being able to prove the work experience side. Being self employed (no pay slips) and not having an accountant (no audited accounts), I had to work very hard providing suitable alternative evidence, e.g. client testimonies. So I'm wondering whether DIMIA are scrutinizing this at the moment.

Not sure of your circumstances mate, but this could be something they're looking at with your application. Have you sent them an e-mail? Might be worth a shout at this stage to chase up.

Lewis,
I have sent my work experience alright. Looking at the time lines of others I have decided to wait till mid January and then email them. I hope and wish that I get the request by then.

Hello,
Looking in austimeline it seems they have not been sending medicals request to non modl applicants for some days. May be they are all on holiday.

I would agree with 7 months, I am waiting 6.5 months so far for a CO, skilled independant, non MODL as a Quantity Surveyor, I know there are others out there

136 visa is offchore general skilled migration visa category [subclass skilled- independent visa]. non MODL means your occupation does not come in the migration occupation on demand list. For further clarification refer http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf

modl applications are processed with in the time limit they specify in the acknowledment letter, or atleast that is what I understand from austimeline.

Lost my patience the other day and phoned DIMIA. They gave me a case officer's name but wouldn't give any other info.

Gonna leave it a week and then phone the case officer direct.
