Default Journey begins...

Good morning all,

Just signed up this morning, so apologies if certain info has already been listed I have just been over to Australia to visit my parents (Noosa, Sunshine Coast) with my partner and 4mth old son. I've visited Oz twice before and have always fancied moving over. Having seen Noosa, my partner now aggrees...what a fantastic life!

We both work in the travel industry (For the same company, which also has an Australian Division). As Travel/Tourism is one of the biggest industries in Australia, I was expecting it to be possible to enter the country on a Skilled Visa. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be an official "Skill" for my area of work.

My partner is a Product Manager, reponsible for negotiating all product that our company sells (Flights, tours etc). She also has overall responsibility for the Product Department (4 people).

I am the Product Supervisor, overseeing the day to day operations of the department (And supervising 3 people).

There is a possibility of being sponsored by our company, but this would place us in Melbourne and not Queensland. If you enter on a sponsorship visa, how long do you have to stay with the company?

Any help on getting started would be much appreciated

Cheers,
Simon

Hi Simon,

Talk to an agent. The bottom line is if sponsored by a company for temporary residence you have to stay with the company until sponsored by someone else, or obtaining PR in another way. Highly unlikely that with your skills you'd be sponsored by an employer directly for PR, but if you do then get advice from an agent before quitting.

Cheers,
