Default Job Offer (547?) in Profession With No Experience

I've been speaking to a couple of people about setting up interviews for a role in IT & Communications Sales which I have 4 years experience in. A couple have suggested looking at recruitment as well but I'm assuming I can't apply for a 457 in this role due to no experience. Is it impossible to work in Oz in recruitment in my situation, even if i was to have a job offer?

Hi Steve,

I don't really get the question to be honest, but I don't think you can apply for a 457 - you need a sponsor (someone may correct me) who will apply for you and effectively take care of you.

I doubt many companies would sponsor you for a role in which you had no experience.

Hope this helps.

Z

Thanks Z. I'll try and explain it better!!! If I was to be offered a role in recruitment with no experience, can I still gain a visa? Although this isn't my current job I have a couple of firms interested in offering me a job over there as I have, in their opinion, all the skills they look for.

The recruitment firm would obviously also sponsor me.

Don't quote me on this, but from what I have read on the immigration web site it looks like they can sponcor you for that visa if the job is on the skilled jobs list, and if you have qualifications equivalent to or more than a diploma in that field. It doesn't say anything about work experiance.

457 visa has its own set of requirements and a job offer is not enough. You may want to start by looking at Booklet 11:
http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/booklets.htm

You must also consider the pathway to permanent residence - some jobs are acceptable for 457 but not on the ENS SOL. That's potentially a huge problem for some.
