That is the correct understanding. I would only add that any time spent when validating might count towards the 4 years, maybe not though. One step at a time eh? Let's just get there first.

Hi everyone,

Kindly include me in this batch. I just joined this thread recently. and am happy to know there is a thread like this.

I am on a 175 CSL application. CO allocation date was on July 7, 2009.

Congratulations to those who have gotten their visas.. Good luck to us for the remaining ones!

Hello,

A CO was allocated to my application on July 7th. A week later I got an email from them requesting for additional personal documents. In the same request they have listed other documents like PCC, medicals.
Now, my wife's passport will expire Sept. 2009 and I have already applied for a new one which will take a month from now. In this new passport, I have also applied for her name change after marriage (replacing her last name with my name). So in this case should I notify DIAC with form "Change of address and/or passport details - 929"? Do I need to upload any more documents? Marriage certificate and my passport that I uploaded has her maiden name.

I guess I was thinking that it's better in that you have longer to make the move. I had heard of people who had to race to enter the country before the visa expired within months of issue. As for the validity .. the visa will be extended once you're there right? So not sure that's much of an issue.

Personally, if I would get the Medicals and PCC's done and submitted despite the fact they haven't requested them. If you already have a CO and they are processing your doc's it's only a matter of time till they request them. For me this took only 2 days between allocation and request for PCC's/Medicals. Are you sure the email didn't go to a spam folder or something? I'm sure they'll respond to the PLE soon anyway Best of luck!

Dear friends,
After an impatient waiting period of approximately 7-months, got the visa approval today! Believe me, I am sharing this with you before my family.

I am planning to be off to Melbourne in November, and this will be the most exiting and unusual travel of my life...

Perhaps, we'll have the chance to meet each other in Melbourne, who knows
