Re: January 2009 Applicants
Have heard back from ANMC they said i should get my assessmnet next week !!! Woo Hoo and then i just need to wait until 24th !! and then of course more waiting.
My partner is a police officer but has only recently joined so he will have to join the police when he gets out there he will have to go through his training again.
Yeh Wakerly, mainly there all really nice areas.
i may contact this hosptial that you are on about and see what they say i know you are slightly ahead of me in the process but it cant heard to enquire, and if they pay for some of the location fee that would be a bonus. ill wait till my visa is in and then deal with that. Have you applied for to the Queensland nursing board i think you have to register with them also in able to work as a nurse, i have the form at home but havnt filled it out yet i got it off the queensland nursing website.
Fingers crossed about hearing back from that job

BIG fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow for you, hope it all goes well and no major trauma's! Just remember to number your docs and keep everything together in a folder, count to ten if you lose the plot.. and if in doubt your fave tipple may help...........AFTER you send everything though!! - Dont want to be responsible for drunken emails to immi gov!!
No seriously hope your paperworks back and it all ok.. drop a line if I can be of any help
Let the process commence!!

You should be hearing something very soon - I have a feeling - plus you applied for 176 so it should be very soon for you.

Hi all!
Applied on 23 jan, subclass 175 asco code 2231-11 neither on modl nor csl. My occupation is on ACT state's in demand occupations. I am thinking to apply for 176 visa to faster process my application. Any thoughts?

Re: January 2009 Applicants
Would you be happy to live in ACT? Personally, it's not for me, but if you think you can commit to living and working there for 2 years, then go for it.
I haven't heard anything. Just trying to get on with things and forget about it all for a while, which is easier said than done

Re: January 2009 Applicants
Hiya
Have you heard back from the ANMC yet?? I hope you have - it must be causing you awful stress what with your submission date for your visa looming?
My friend, who I mentioned before lives in Murrarie which is not too far from Wakerley - we will be looking around that area aswell as we really liked the South East region of Brisbane - cleveland, wakerley, wynnum, manly.. we'd even consider moving as far as redland bay as its still not too far from the city but you also have the water on your doorstep - Im a cancerian - I seem to prefer being near water!! We'll be staying with my mate when we first get there, which will be a great help!
I still haven't heard back from the Mater hospital yet about the job that I applied for, mind you the closing date was only a week ago - I just cant bear the wait - its bad enough waiting for our visa! My friend works for them already and has told me that they are always recruiting people in the UK.. interview here then set up the job for when you arrive in Oz... which is pretty good I think, plus she said its very common to get relocation fee's back from them - if you are going to work for them and accepted a job offer, I think it can be up to $10000 for a couple and up to $15000 for a family! Which is not to be sniffed at really once you've paid for the big move.
Im moving with my fiance, he's a meat trader in london so not sure how he will find getting a job.. mind you he likes working outdoors and did when we were in Australia during our travels 2 years ago. So he may have to change professions, but he seems to be looking forward to it - he's 29 so can still make a go of something new.
What does your other half do??
Fingers crossed
Sorry for hijacking this thread by the way!

Re: January 2009 Applicants
Im on the same as you - 175 but I thought I would start to look for a job before I leave so that maybe line something up for when we arrive. It may not work out like that but I just thought I d give it a go.

Re: January 2009 Applicants
Hi, my hubby & I applied 10th Jan for a 475 visa. His folks are living in QLD & agreed to sponsor us (YAY! ). Now just the waiting...!! Had our meds done on the 23rd in Chichester (anyone considering getting their meds in Chichester, the doc is absolutely lovely! Chances are he'll start talking to you about scuba diving!! lol ). PCC's already sent, but now the wait will really start to drag! We're considering going over on a WHV this year until we get a decision. Good luck to everyone!

Re: January 2009 Applicants
Bit late, but we applied for a 457 in Jan. Current state of play:
'23/01/2009 Application received - processing commenced
23/01/2009 Application fee received
04/02/2009 Application being processed further
16/02/2009 Health requirements finalised
V16/02/2009 Health requirements finalised'
Copies of marriage cert and passport pages seem to have gone missing despite being in same 'Express Delivery' package as the police checks which I assume they've got as they haven't asked for them. Have asked sponsor to chase before sending more copies.
My meds have been referred.
Waiting is such fun!!
