Default Irish Passports

Hi everyone, Just wondered regarding children on the parents passports I know on a British passport the child has to now have their own, but my two children are on my Irish passport which does not run out until 2012 will I still need to get them a passport of their own or does this only apply to British ones any help appreciated Thanks ireland

Same applies for Irish passports I'm afraid, we were advised to get our kids their own passports before we put application in - it makes everything easier in the long run anyway.

We did the same - just makes life a bit easier - hopefully!! I think the time will eventually come where this will be a necessity anyway.

It's already a necessity if you plan to visit or transit the US using the visa waiver scheme.

hi ireland,
fraid so, all kids now need own passport. we have six month old and passport office told us we couldn't put her on our passport even though other 2 are on mine. they also now need a passport for themselves as we are unable to enter usa unless we all have seperate passports. getting a passport photo of baby was great fun- NOT
