Re: Information on points test requirements
Good post, however small correction on English points, for those who are not holding exempt passports.
Vocational, i.e. 5 points each section applies only for Tradies, so if the occupation is 60points worth you will need 6s
Concessional 5.5 points average, if memory serves, applies only to Regional Sponsored visas
Spouse and dependents aged 18 years or over need to show at least 4.5 points average, or a primary applicant will be hit with the second installment fee of about 2K AUD for English language tuition.

You have written that
....so if the occupation is 60points worth you will need 6s Concessional 5.5 points average....
My question is that Do the 5.5 band of IELTS works for the occupation of 60points ?

Re: Information on points test requirements
What does the ......Concessional 5.5 points average.... means in your answer?
does it means that If the occupation is 60 points worth the 5.5 (as concessioanl) will work instead of 6's .....
Or if we have 6's in three and 5.5 in one that as a concesional 5.5 will work for 60 point occupation.
Do let me know if its again unclear...
Thanks

Re: Information on points test requirements
There may be 2 different levels of English depending on your Australian Standard Classification of Occupation code. Generally, ASCO 1 to 3's threshold is higher than ASCO 4. It is also important to consider the assessing authority's English standard requirements, otherwise you may end up having to take and retake the test for each stage of the process.

Hi again,
Further to your query, this depends on your nominated occupation and requirements of the assessing authority. Unless professional advice is sought on a case-by-case basis, you may end up wasting time and money.
