Default immigtation to new-zealand (waiheke island)

Hello Kiwis

Is there anyone out there who can tell us, what it is like to live on
Waiheke Island. We have been living in New-Zealand before(auckland)
for 9 years, I was working as a real-estate agent and my wife was
working as an occupational therapist, at the moment we are living in
the Netherlands, we now have two children and we are considering,
going back to New-Zealand.

Waiheke is, in a word - beautiful. I've spent more than a few weekends there, a very laid back & peaceful community, people say it's just like rural NZ was 30yrs ago.. some nice wineries/restaurants/beaches & amazingly only 30 mins on the ferry from downtown Auckland. The only downsides are the last ferry leaves the ferry bldg at something like 11pm so if you wanted a big night out it would mean sleeping on a friends couch / hotel which could get quite pricey! As for property prices - think astronomical!!
