Hi all

I am an Indian national working in USA for more than 3 years. We ( myself and my
wife ) wanted to immigrate to Australia under the skilled worker category. I think I
will be able to get 125 points towards the IT skill set. I currently live in San
Jose, California. Does anybody know any immigration agents that I can contact for
this purpose ?

I would like to hear from people who has done ( or currently doing ) by the help of
an immigration agent. Please let me know the average fees of these agents also.

Because I lived in both India and USA do I need to get police verification from
both countries ? Will I be able to apply for PR from USA australian immigration
office itself ?

Any comments and help on these is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

ARSKumar.

Head over to www.immi.gov.au for the basics - you may not need an agent at all but if
you do there are several who post in here. Regards, Steve

Will I be able to apply for PR from USA australian immigration office itself ? Yes.
The visa application must be lodged outside of Australia. You can lodge at any
overseas post. The Australian post in the US may however send your application to
India for processing.

The details for the nearest Australian embassy to you in San Jose would be Australian

Dear ARS Kumar,

We have a lot of North American clients; as far as I am aware there are no registered
migration agents with US addresses. Go to www.themara.com.au and check if you like.

Like Andrew Hackworthy, we charge A$1500 for a skilled visa, payable in two equal
instalments.

Please visit our website and complete our online assessment form for a free
assessment.

Cheers

Hi, there's an Australian Consulate in San Francisco of which I had found out a few
months after receiving my Prospective Spouse Visa and moving to Australia -- Address
is: 1 Bush Street, 7th floor San Francisco, CA. 94104-4413 Phone: (415) 362 6160 Fax:
(415) 986 2775 Website: http://www.austemb.org (San Francisco's)

If I had known about that office, it would have saved me a lot of time in travelling
down to LA where I collected all the paperwork and the sorts. :P Oh well. Since you
live in San Jose, it'll be heaps easier for you to go to San Francisco's office.

Good luck, Dawn (am originally from Santa Rosa)

Disregard the website -- just realised it's for the Washington one, oops. :P forgive
me. At least I got the SF address correctly, smile. Til then.

Thanks a lot for all those who had replied to my post. That was of great help to me.
Now I am in the process of collecting documents for ACS application.

By the way the phone number to SanFransico australia consulate office has changed to
(415)-536-1970.

Regards ARSKumar.
