Hi,
Assuming that I get 7 band score in IELTS, I've got 135 points (incl MODL) for subclass 175.
Will I be elegible if I get IELTS band score between 6 and 7 ?

Hi passionite,
If you have 135 points then IELTS 6.0 is enough to compete for the race!
Don't worry. For such confusion please read DIAC website!!

Well, I'm sorry if my previous message is confusing.
I'm currently having 110 points and going to attempt for IELTS.
Am I elegible if I get less than 7 band score, which will give me only 15 and totally 125?

Thank you for the replies.
However, I've read in some thread that for 175 main applicant necessarily has to get 7 band or higher even though he has enough points..
Any clues..?

I take you are not from Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada or the US. If so, you will need 6 in each component of the test (and cannot apply until you have successfully undertaken the test). It is explained here - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ty-english.htm.

Just Copying from DIAC Website:
-------------------------------
A higher level of English is required for certain occupations where it forms part of the skills assessment. You can find out if your occupation requires a higher level of English by contacting the assessing authority for your nominated occupation. Contact details for assessing bodies are available at the end of the Skilled Occupation List.
See:
Form 1121i Skilled Occupation List (SOL) and Employer Nomination Scheme Occupation List (ENSOL) (129KB PDF file)

Quick question - do your ILETS scores expire? Or can I register to take the test now and apply for the visa whenever without worrying?

For secondary applicants it's even 12 months, check:
http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ish-family.htm
Assessing authorities such as engineers australia require 2 years as well
