Default Ielts

Hi!
I saw a few reviews about candidates being asked to take IELTS and some sort of transcripts verification? Whats all this about? I though if you were educated in english you would not require IELTS, especially if applying from UK. Also what is this transcripts verification?

Jude,

Usually applicants who have local degrees (which may not be equivalent to Australian bachelor degrees) from countries that have an disproportionately high ratio of cheats to honest applicants will be required to submit their cerfitied university transcripts directly from their local university.

IELTS results are required from people from non-English speaking nations. (i.e. places where English is not the main language for communication). Being educated in English alone counts for nothing as far as DIMIA is concerned if the main language of the area where the applicant lived is some other language.

Most UK applicants who are educated (up to University level or above) will have no problems with IELTS or university transcripts.
