Sajeer, Congratulations....Just one question, If you had lodged 175 application while you were in Australia on 457, wouldn't you eligible for bridging visa ? and if you went with your own wish, do u need to infrom DIAC or what all that should to be taken care of.

Re: Hurray.. Got my grant (PR 175)!!!
You will not get bridging visa for 175 even if you lodge it in australia. 175 is an offshore visa and thus you are not eligible for bridging visa... you can lodge it in aus and stay as long as your other visa permits you to remain.. you must have another visa like student visa, 457 etc to stay in australia in this case...

Hi Sajeer,
First of all accept my heartiest congratulations on visa grant, also thanks a million for writing that detailed timeline (it is really helpful).
Please answer one question of mine, I had my medical on 16-nov-2010 and due to EID holidays it was dispatched to Australia after 22-Nov-2010. I am hoping that it must have been received by HOC by now but how can I know that HOC has received it or not? I thought to send them an email but will they answer me that they have received my medical from my country?
Also I had plan to inquire from them till 10-Dec-2010 about finalization of the medical.
Please advice.

HOC did respond to my query after 5 working days. I was in constant touch with them after I got the doctor to send missed out forms. They confirmed the arrival of the form cross checking with the tracking number I had provided.
Cheers!!

However, sorry, but this is NOT a timeline site. You can put timelines in your signatures and extended signatures but if you want a site comprised purely of such detail - which is largely irrelevant to anyone but the applicant - you will need to go elsewhere.
