So did I. I also gave them a contact in Australia with his own e-mail
address.

The only e-mail ever received from ASPC was the acknowledgement
stating it would take 50+ weeks. All communication (several letters
and this one e-mail) were sent to my friend in Sydney.
If you send your passport in to have the visa evidenced (I sent mine
to Berlin), you will have to include a copy of the grant letter, so I
reckon you would always get that in paper form.
Hope this helps

Carlitos,
I, too, happily signed that portion, hoping that DIMIA would contact me via email to speed things up. Unlike Thomas, all the electronic communication I got was.... nothing!
I got my acknowledgement via airmail (un-registered), then nothing, then the request for my meds/police checks via airmail (also un-registered), then the grant letter - no pre-grant - via un-registered airmail again.
That's my story, anyway.

Thomas and Peter
Thank you for your answers, by the way , did you send the mail labels with your postal address as required on acknowledgment letter ?
If so, did case officers use them ? I really hope they'd do that with the ones I sent them, to avoid letters be sent to my building common mailbox

Ahem. I was never requested any mailing labels. But then again, I
didn't get an acknowledgment letter, just an acknowledgment e-mail ;-)

I was requested that when I received my ACK emai:
"If you have not already done so, you may wish to forward to this office your name and address, written on labels in your own language or script, to assist in posting letters to you."
But now, I suppose it is oriented to those countries using non-western characters language, isn't it ?
