How long from submitting Medicals until a final decision
Can anyone tell me how long (roughly) it takes from the day you send
them the (requested) medical forms until you get a decision letter and
actual visa.
BTW, I will need to post a Bond for the extra 5 points. Will this slow
things down.
Second, there seems to be a major uptick in Medical Form requests.
Does anyone know why. Whill this mean that they will be overloaded
processing these forms now.
Thanks Everyone.

We got our bond request (14/04/03) 7 days after submitting p/checks. Medicals had been forwarded 11 days prior to pcs.
Case officer today confirmed by email that once our funds had been received by our investee i.e SAFA we would receive our visa grant. We understand from SA Treasury that the entire process of lodging funds takes them from 7 - 14 days to confirm with Adelaide. All in all things seem to be moving fairly quickly.
Good luck

we waited 3 weeks from the date of sending of our police checks, our
medicals were sent a week earlier, our assurance of support bond was
posted the same week our police checks were sent, so if everything is
ok it shouldn't be longer than one month from when your last bit of
paperwork is submitted to them

Hi Ian
I was just wondering - Did your assurer have any hassle lodging the bond and did the bank send the documents directly to adelaide ? It's just our assurer has just lodged our bond and the bank didn't seem to know what to do ?
Your help would be appreciated to help put our minds at rest - cheers !

Re: How long from submitting Medicals until a final decision
If its any help, my sister lodged our bond at Christmas time in Sydney. The
bank insisted on holding onto the letter that she brought in despite it
stating that it is to be retained by the addressee (me). Good job she
brought a copy. They made a big fuss about having to get originals from
another branch & wanted to give her photocopy documents as proof of
lodgement. She insisted on the originals as that is what DIMIA asked for.
She had to go back to the bank later that day to collect them. We were
charge $200 by the bank for opening 2 Term Deposit Accounts.

I posted my medicals off about six weeks ago (Mid March 2003), but had
to wait until 30th April before getting my UK police check back, which
I posted to Adelaide immediately.
I got notification that my emmigration visa had been accepted on 7th
May.
My consultant is now posting me details of how I get the actual visa
from London, so that should maybe take another 2 weeks.
hope this helps and best of luck !!
