How long for PR?
Hi,
Well, you've all been really helpful so far, so here goes with another question...
After your EOI is selected from the pool, how long after getting your ITA do you have to officially apply for PR?
Also, howlong doesit normally take for PR to be granted from when you officially apply, assuming we don't have a job offer?
Hope someone can help?
Thanks
Kathryn

Re: How long for PR?
Hi Kathryn
I have asked these questions and have been told up to four months to take up
the invitation to apply and typically three months there after to hear a
decision but possibly up to six at the very most. Priority is given to those
with job offers and those without job offers applying from Great Britain
have to attend an interview in London as part of the application process.
Have you received your ITA?
I was selcted from the pool two weeks ago and am still waiting to hear if I
am to be invited to apply. I have not got a job offer but hope to deal with
that side of things after being granted a PR visa.
If I fail by the PR visa route, I may travel to NZ, secure a job offer
whilst there and then apply for a work visa although I dont really want to
take that route...seems like too much of a gamble!!
Not sure if my general thinknig is correct here but from what I have read it
seems as though the most pivotal point is whether an invitation to apply is
issued, after that if everything checks out to be true/credible then should
be fairly strainghtforward.
Hope this has helped? Please let me know of any advice regarding the
application process if you can.
Regards
James

Re: How long for PR?
Hi James,
Thanks for your reply.
We haven't even sent in an EOI yet, although we do have enough points even without a job offer. At the moment I am trying to convince hubby that we ought to put in EOI now while application process and points are in our favour, and that we will have a decent amount of time before we need to validate visas so we can get more money together.
Hope your ITA comes through soon. Where do you fancy living in NZ? We fancy Hawkes Bay/Napier area. Is it just yourself that's going or family too? We have 3 boys aged 3, 2, and 7 weeks.
Anyway, good luck.
Kathryn
