Post Hi all, need some advice from you kind people if I may ?!

We're in the UK and are looking into migrating to Australia, failing that - New Zealand!

We can't go for the 126 as my hubby has no formal qualifications, only a decade of work experience in IT. He's a Product Manager in IT - but he also has Purchasing experience and years in Sales with some Marketing thrown in too! All in all he has 10 years experience in all of the above jobs.

I'm a Registered Childminder BTW, going to retrain when we finally get there for same job too!

We spoke to Immigration and they said to go for the 457, but I have heard we *may* be able to migrate on another visa ?!

Does anyone have any help or advice for us ?? We're as good as ready to go (well apply anyway!) - house appraisal done, just got to get it on the market and we're in a very sought after area so house sale should be very quick! We have 3 kids, 1 at school age too.

Thanks for any help in advance,

Michelle & Carl

I'm not sure of the requirements at the minute and it's kinda late here so haven't really got the time to look at the minute, but there are a few employer sponsered visa's that you could look into.

RSMS and ENS are two that spring immediately to mind. Obviously depends on where you want to live etc, but you'll find info for these on the DIMA site.

ENS - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skill.../ens/index.htm

RSMS - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skill...rsms/index.htm

There are possibly more, so have a look around the DIMA site and see what you can come up with. Good luck

The 126 visa was closed to new applicants on 1 July 1999. Do you mean the 136?

Have you looked to see if he can get a Recognised Prior Learning skill assessment from the ACS : http://www.acs.org.au ?

Don't sell the house before you have been granted a migration visa. From the information you've posted, you may not even be eligible for one.
