Default Here on a 457 - whats the wait time for PR

Been here little over 2 years and getting to the Stay / Go phase of our adventure.

My question is to those that have been in a similar position to ourselves.

If you apply for a PR Visa whilst already resident here ( with employment obvisously, kids at school and such) how long does the process take ?

Is it the same as being back in the UK, or is it fast tracked somewhat ?

Thanks in Advance

It depends on what PR visa you are thinking of. Is your employer willing to sponsor you for PR now or are you looking at a 175?

If it is company sponsored it can be VERY quick. A guy i know got it in about a week. I think it has blown out a bit since then, but not more than a few months

It can vary, ours took just over one week (last year). However others who did their ENS visa at the same time took more like 8-10weeks.

Hi Stu

Scottish Andy here (Andy & Carz & Hannah), our app went in at the start of July and hasnt been looked at yet.Its slowed right down at the moment. Exactly the same as you, employer sponsored PR on our 457.

Got an email last week from our agent, he had spoken to immigration and they are currently working on apps from the first week in April so dont expect them to get to ours untill January so that will be about six months from submission.

It took us and my employer a few months to get everything inplace, it was the first time they had sponsored for PR so takes a bit of work. If they dont have an agent in place already that would be the first thing to look into.

Just lookign forward to the girls getting home now, its three weeks they've been in the UK, think Carz needs a holiday the amount of driving and relo visiting she's done, lol.

cheers

Andy

Thanks Andy, thats a great help.
My company already has an agent for dealing with stuff like this.
I might just ask them how long it would take.

Good to hear that Carz and Hannah have had a great time. Bet you are really looking forward to getting them back !!

Thanks again

Stu
