Has anybody ever had their visa cancelled 3 months after it was granted ? My husband got a letter today saying that some of the work experience was incorrect and mis-leading (all the information was absolutely truthful). Just sold our house, set the dog in a new home, arranged removals not booked the flights YET. Dont know why this has happened. Think it is possibly a sick joke. Anyone know why after the visa is granted they would cancel it, or even look at the file again? I think someone at work has got it in for him. My world is falling apart. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Sue

Yes.....visas can be and are cancelled if applications are found to be untruthful.

I am not suggesting that this is what has happened and hope, for your sake, that it is some sick prank.

However, it can happen, which is why it is essential that everything is filled in correctly and all necessary information is diclosed.

Did you use an agent for the original application? If so, get in touch with them at once. If you didn't, I suggest you contact one asap and see what they can establish for you.

It may sound worse than it is - If you were inside Australia, they put the adverse information to you and notify they are considering cancelling your visa and you get a chance to convince them that the adverse information is not correct. When you are offshore the mechanism can be that they cancel the visa, and then give yo udetails of teh adverse information. They then invite you to comment and will then consider whether or not to revoke the cancellation. Obviously, if this is the case this should be explained in detail on the cancellation letter.

Get an agent on-shore who is used to dealing with such cancellations - contact George and if he does not specialise in these he will recommend somebody who does.

Thanks for all the replies. I just cant get my head around WHY the visa would all of a sudden be cancelled. Could it just be a random spot check on the visa application ? But why AFTER the visa was issued ? I dont know how we are going to get through this. Is our dream definately over ??? Sue

Just read through this and can't really help or comment but just wanted to say that I hope it gets sorted...

I can't even begin to immagine what your thinking at the moment! All I would say is, try and stay composed, and get focused on sorting it out.

Really sorry to hear your news, sounds mad that they can do that after this time!
Think the previous advice was spot on, you need to stay up tonight, write down your questions and stay on the phone until you get an answer from them.

Did you recieve this information by letter or email? As you know there are many sick hoxes that are distributed by email.
