Question Help with Prospective Marriage Visa

Hi, just after some advise on the best time to lodge our Pros Marriage application. We are getting married mid Oct 2006 so don't want visa granted before mid Jan (will be 9 months exactly). Or do we need to allow some time after marriage to apply for spouse visa while PMV is still valid?

Any advise greatly appreciated.

How long have you been together?
Are you living together now?
If so, how many years because it may be better to apply for a de-facto visa especially if your relationship is long standing (3 or more years).
Dont take my word for it though, Im sure many others will post replies, good luck

You need to apply for the next stage before the Pros Marriage Visa expires, or things get complicated and expensive. You will need to allow at least a couple of weeks to obtain the marriage certificate from the registrar after the wedding has taken place - took us three and a half weeks. Also it is a good idea to have some Stat decs from family/friends talking about the wedding and how you are building a life together.
I would give yourself at least a month to get the filing together
