Help needed with Skilled Visa start please

Re: Help needed with Skilled Visa start please
I get the choice of a fully maintained company car or a fully maintained Novated lease to the value of $18500 per year, my hours are 76 per fortnight @$42 ph with every 5th week on 24 hr standby. A call out is usually min 3 hrs at x1.5 and anything over that x2.0. It's about $95k to $110k per year plus 9% super on top.
10 hour rest before return to work, meals is $12 per evening or $35 per day and away from home allowance is $50 per night. Laptop, phone & Amex card included.
Pretty standard I would say in the business.

Still I like the conditions... if you say it is standard. I presume it got to the point when we get abused by the fact that there is nowhere to go, so we work a lot of unpayed hours now. can you get anything decent for that $18500? and would you be covering a lot of ground? well can't compare to Oz, but I cover all Island of Ireland..
$18500 per year is really good as over 4 years thats $74000, You could get a new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and insure, fuel, tyre's & service and still walk away quids in... considering that at the end of 4 years you can just hand it back and get another new one. I do mostly metro areas but do drive to Newcastle and Wollongong, sometimes have to do a stint in a regional area if someone is off on holidays.
I am from Armagh myself but worked over in the UK for years, As for the point of going as an Engineer you could maybe get a skills assessment with the TRA as an Electronics Tradesman.

To the OP, for Engineer EA require a Washington Accord degree and for Technologist/Technician they look for a Sydney Accord equivalence which the Diploma may give you. The tech however is less points than the engineer which may be an issue?
For tradesperson from TRA they generaly look for an apprenticeship but may be worth looking over the relevant websites.
EA
TRA
Good Luck
For MCH,
I used to maintain medical equipment and am looking to get back into the field when I have to get a real job Do Oz employers generaly look for a degree or would previous specific experience, HNC, OU BSc and 22yrs+ of radar/sonar/computer maintenance be deemed suitable?
Apologies in advance for a partial hijacking

In my opinion employers are not interested in degrees or qualifications they prefer decent experience and not the sort you can make up. They usually throw a few curve ball technical questions to see if you are just bullsh*ting them.
You are usually deemed only as good as your previous employer...

Specific specialist experience will get you in the door for sure, I worked for one of the big companies for years in the UK and when I came to Australia one of their biggest competitors just happen to advertise a job. I didn't even get a chance to get my CV into the other mob.

Further to my PM:
An agent can help to ensure that you are applying for the right visa in the first place. However they cannot get you a visa if you don't meet the criteria, nor - contrary to popular opinion - can they speed up the process!
Most agents will also do a partial service, they will check an application before submission, or just help with a skills assessment, much cheaper than the full price, if you are just unsure on a few things.
Most will give a free first opinion on your circs.
Main thing to ensure is that whoever you use is registered with MARA, and if you search the forum for MARA agents you will find several of them post on here - including (in a totally random order!)
Alan Collett, George Lombard, and Stephen Dickson.
There are also many others though, Ian Harrop is a company often recommended, and Peter Bollard is acknowledged as a specialist in medical issues.

That is my main reason to look for the agent as my skills vs occupation are not a match so to go with Engineer Australia I need to be sure..

I wasn't sure which HC you would apply through. I've looked here:
http://www.ireland.embassy.gov.au/du...Migration.html
and it suggests that Southern Ireland goes through the London HC, but you might like to check.

Re: Help needed with Skilled Visa start please
Just got a phonecall from Elizabeth Mary, she is an agent for Australian imigration and looks like they will have a look at my application. was told that they might not even take my case if they see I have a chance of failure with application.. Hope this means they will do their best I had a lot of good feedback about these people.

3423-15 Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) or something? I wonder would that be a lot closer to Field Service Engineer than the electronics engineer?

Re: Help needed with Skilled Visa start please
The main point they, TRA, seem to look for though is an apprenticeship but not sure if other TRA pathways allow for Diploma + work experience.
As a field service type, the TRA route seems to me to be the closest to what you do if you read through the job descriptions. On the old codes I could have qualified for about 4 or 5 of them!
Personally I would investigate the TRA route further as to get the Electronics degree and then further work experience just lenghtens the whole process.
