Help needed for the name of love
I my self am an Australian citizen of Croatian origin recently I have
been to Croatia to visit friends and family for a duration of 15 weeks
and in that time I found my self in love with a very nice girl and have
been with her nearly the whole time, here is where it gets complicated.
Me and my partner come from a small village who knows everyone and
family’s know each other etc. Now shi is at her 6th week of pregnancy
and we have really talked about all of this and we know that both sides
of the family would strongly be against our intentions to be together
but that’s not really the problem, we can legally get married in
Croatia but not stay there for no longer than her being more than 3
months pregnant in fear of her side finding out where we live. So I
have done a whole lot of research but I still would like to know more
advice before im 100% sure, So after we get legally married in Croatia
we cannot stay there longer than anther 6 weeks. After that time we
seek to go to perhaps Czech Republic for a 3 months stay visa free than
to probably Tunis where same rules apply, then when shi delivers our
child would automatically gain Australian citizenship? and on the basis
our new born is Australian citizen and I am the father my partner gets
Australian citizenship?
Ill be straight I have no qualifications I have worked on the mines as
a labourer/machine operator im 20 years of age finished year 11 and my
partner has no qualifications and is still at the Croatian equivalent
of tafe so im at crisis point to find out what are our options and what
would be the best thing to do? I will seek to put in an application soon
through a immigration lawyer but would like to hear from someone who has
some sought of info on this that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Man, where this village is?
I'm from Croatia, too - I think you tend to make things complicated.
Be honest, don't hide (it's 21st century), tell the family your
intentions, and focus on moving her to Australia (not Czech or
somewhere). You'll lose lot of energy.
Good luck!

Re: Help needed for the name of love
ack Jadran...... sta se desilo???
I'm from Serbian origin... and married over in Serbia after finding my true
love back in 2002... only we didn't have the complications you seem to be
having.....
If your baby is born in another country, I presume thats where it becomes a
citizen of......... you'll need to apply, as far as I am aware, for your
child to become an Aussie citizen.
We just had our first child and if I wanted to make him a Serbian citizen
(which I don't), I'd need to apply over there. I presume so anyhow. I know I
wanted to apply to become a dual citizen and they like to complicate things
(over there anyhow).
You know... there is nothing stopping you ringing DIMIA and asking
anonymously your same query and their advice... I did the same thing when
applying for my spouse to come to Australia.
It doesnt matter that she is unskilled or unemployed, if you applied for a
spousal visa, the fact that you two are married will count. Are you employed
and able to support her is she came over? Looks like you have gotten
yourself into a bit of a quandrary!!! Where in Australia are you from??
oh.... and while I am harrassing you with questions.... why do you think the
families will be against your union? maybe they will change their mind once
they know your intention of staying together given she is pregnant?

This can be done if you are Australian by birth or naturalisation. If you're Australian by descent you will need to show 2 years legal residence in Australia.
Sorry, your partner won't get Australian citizenship this way. She will need to be sponsored to migrate to Australia and become naturalised Australian in due course.
