Help on condition 8515 (Not Marry before First Entry) on Australian PR visa
Hi Guys,
I have some doubts about condition 8515 (Not Marry before First Entry)
on Australian Permanent Resident visa. Could anybody clarify them and
guide me in the right direction urgently.
My questions are -
1) Is this condition put on all applicants who are single at the time
of filing their visa applications?
2) If this condition is put on an applicant, can he/she marry before
first entry at all? Any exceptions?
3) If the applicant gets married before first entry, even though
there's condition 8515 on visa, then is it legal/possible for him/her
to make first entry without his/her spouse? In addition, in such a
case, should the applicant inform Australian High Commission in his/her
country about change of his/her marital status by filling a "Change of
Circumstances" form?
4) Lastly but most importantly, will there be a risk of cancellation of
visa in case the applicant gets married before first entry with this
condition on visa? If yes, what can be done to avoid such a bad
situation?
Thanks,
vijay

If you have this on your visa, and you do marry before first entry, there is a strong possibility of your visa being cancelled, as you have broken the conditions of the visa.

Vijay,
1) It's not a mandatory condition for all single applicants.
2) I think it's clear - No and No; unless you want to test DIMIA's patience.
3) Your visa will probably be cancelled upon arrival anyway.
4) Yes, the risk of cancellation is real. How to avoid it? Abide by the condition and don't get married first. Not sure why is this so difficult to understand - the condition is written in plain and simple English.

Thanks for the info Peter and Pollyana!
I'm sorry I couldn't post my reply earlier as I was down with fever.

Another quick question...
What if an applicant gets married during processing of his/her
application, and the visa gets granted before DIMIA is notified about
change of circumstances.
