Default Help with ACS application and IT in general

Hi,

I'm 24 and am looking to apply for ACS assesment under the "IT Professional" category ASCO 2231-79.

I have an MCSE in NT4 which I believe suits the requirement for tertiary education, am currently working towards 2003 but won't have this for some time. I have a couple of questions which I hope someone could help me on..

1. I have also completed 2 x NVQ level 2 in IT and 1 x NVQ 3 in IT. Did these after leaving school. Should I include these? Also did a part time Business tudies A-level last year which was not IT related.

2. I have over 6 years expereince but 6 years ago I was in a less technical position. Over time I have gradually progressed to were I am now (and have been for 2-3 years). Would this be sufficient?

Also i'd like to hear about other peoples experiences in the IT market in Australia as I don't know much about that state of it and there's not too much info on here regards to IT. I'm looking to migrate to Brisbane.

Hi

Sorry, can't really help with your questions, but I would recommend you speak to and agent with IT/ACS background and experience. They are in a much better position to answer.

Hope that helps

Gav

An MCSE is normally enough to meet the skill requirements for Group B, but this could change anytime. ACS require 6 years *professional* IT experience for Group B - so see a good agent who specialises in ACS/IT.

Thanks for that, think i'm going to have to go the agent route.

Can anyone reccomend an agent for ACS cases? I have done a search on the forums but I really would like an agent with extensive experience of ACS.

George Lombard helped me with my ACS/RPL as well. Can highly recommend him.

Also, why not do a search on the forums for ACS and RPL, if you have not already done so, and you will find plenty of advice from previous posters....

good luck
:-)
