Have we got the right police check forms???
My OH has just been to the police station to collect the police check forms, Im a little confused if hes got the right forms
Its headed Data protection act 1998 and says underneath it, How to apply for access to information held on police systems, its a green booklet/form and has 4 pages in it, theres also a blue form enclosed that is also titled data protection act 1998, this form says you do not need to complete this blue form if you only wish to apply for access to information held on your police national computer (ie. details of prosecutions, convicitions, cautions etc.
it says it will cost £10 to send the form away to the Devon and cornwall constabulary office in Exeter, Ive read on other messages regarding these forms that most people have handed them into there nearest police office and have posted them off
Hopefully someone can sort these questions out for us.

I dont think we need to fill in the blue form as it seems its only for cases who have been involved in crime reports, domestic violence, and incident logs.

But we havent been involved in any of the cases Ive mentioned above, and you have to list details and dates of when it all happened if we havent been in trouble with the law then we can't provide details of convictions or prosecutions, cautions if we havent had any.

You don't need anything about crime reports, witness statements or anything like that, just convictions/cautions.
Your local Police HQ Data Protection office - and possibly your local station can provide the forms; costs £10 each and takes up to 40 days. Your location tends to suggest that the form you need is here -
http://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/...taprot/faq.htm
and the form is here

Hope this helps

Hi,
You have probably sorted this by now, but you can get the form on line at www.met.police.uk/dataprotection/forms.htm. Might help any others that are looking at the tread.

Please everyone, check the website for your own Force and use the form there - if you use the wrong one your Force MAY accept it, but equally theymay reject it and ask you to re-apply with their own form.
Reason being that although the Met does all the checks, the form goes to your own Force first to have the ID and address checked, and the money banked.

AS I said earlier, each Force has a duifferent form - your link is for people living in the Metropolitan Police area.only.
