Default Have PRV, how easy to get a RRV?

Hi. My wife, child and myself have 176 PRV's for unrestrcted access to live and work in Australia until 2015. Due family circumstances it's likely we may be in the UK until then and by which time we'll be over 40. What is the potential for us gaining Return Resident Visa's at that time and can anyone advise how much bureacracy needs to be gone through and does ther points test need to be revisited? Many thanks.

There is no points test for a RRV and age is irrelevant, but if you haven't lived here and have no ties to Aus then you may not qualify.

Also be aware that if you are granted a RRV it will only be for one year.

You should look to move before your visa expires, otherwise without any links to Australia you might not be able to get a RRV.
