Has anyone had Police checks from Belgium?
Hi,
I applied for my police checks from Belgium before being asked to by
DIMIA as I no longer live there so took the chance when visiting. I
went to the local commune where the checks are issued and explained it
was for Australia. Instead of receiving the print out immediately as
is normal for police checks, I was told I would have to wait a week as
the Bourgemestre would have to sign them as they for Australia. I
duly did this and have already had them translated. However, I have
now been requested to do them by DIMIA and in their booklet it says I
have to get the police checks from the Ministre de la Justice in the
centre of Brussels as opposed to my local commune where I was
registered.
Does anyone know if the 'Extrait du Casier Judiciaire' issued by the
Ministre de la Justice is different from that issued by my commune?
Or will I be ok with what I already have. After all, I imagine that
both bits of paper are print outs from the same central computer, just
with a different signature on the bottom.
Thanks
Vicky
