Has anyone got in getting less than the required points?
Just done dh's points (he's a chef) and he got 105 so under the limit as such so it may be 'pooled'? is this it fir us already at the first hurdle? im not sure he will stay in his current job for it to stay the same when they re look at it (he has been there 16 years and had enough!)..but obviously if there is a chance it helps then who knows..
He is a special in the police..would that help with points or not? ahhh thanks guys!

TBH you're better off speaking with a good agent to get the exact answer, for your circs I'd recommend Go Matilda, they do a free initial chat. We used them and now have our visas.

Not sure where you have been looking to move to but have a search through for skills in demand in the states.
Good luck,

No you won't get a 175 visa with less than 120 points. Going into the pool is not something I would consider, you will sit there until they decide to lower the point requirement. Which may never happen.
I think your best bet is to look into state sponsorship.

Freebo what is IELTS?
James we have no particualr place in mind yet some are a no no..sponsering as a pc etc..is this common..easyish? i thought chef was quite a wanted job there? obviously where there is a higher likelness of jobs would attract more.
Bermuda shorts thanks..no the pooling thing sounds like a kind of stuck on a list and thats it..not sure its worth all the heartache tbh!
Last night i re did it and we got to 125..if he applies before he is 40 unless he loses 5 points so on the deadline..head chef came up with 60 points when ide only put in 40..need to check that out though.
Thanks for the replies

It explains IELTS but if you have british passport you automatically get 15 points. If you need the 10 points extra then take the test. There are many links about IELTS on here
