Default Group A - ACS assessment

I am really curious to know if anyone has been assessed in Group A by ACS if their main qualification does exactly mention IT/Computing but still can be considered as major in ICT e.g. Degree in Electronics, Information Systems or related

Those assessed as Group A by ACS - kindly mention the exact "title-name" of your qualification.

Cool Re: Group A - ACS assessment

Just forget about Group A

you just have to qualify under any capacity, it could be either A or B.. what is the special benefit you get if it is group A? nothing...

just need to clear the hurdle... from over the top or underneath...

I have only 4 years of experience in the IT sector - cannot get successful approval from ACS unless Group A

Group B and RPL need at least 6 years of experience

You might be better off with an agent that specialises in ACS assessments if you need to convince ACS that your qualifications are equivalent to the Australian ICT degree.

Otherwise we'll see you back here in a couple of years

Good luck

Not quite - I did my 3 year degree in Mechanical engineering, but I love the student life so much I did another year in software development. Not sure if this helps you though.

your qualification may be assessed as Group A in the above mentioned scenario - a year of s/w development after engg. - surely a graduate diploma.

However, my case is different. Thanks for your reply, anyways

There are certain "ACS Accredited" qualifications that may not first in computing, yet carry enough ICT content to be assessed in Group A. Many courses offered (not necessarily first in computing) by Australian Universities are labelled as ACS Accredited - not sure if there exists any official list of such qualifications.

ICT, itself, stands for Information Communications Technology - can cover more than computing (Hardware, Networks, Communications, Information Systems, Telecom, etc.)
