And Thanks! for sharing these details so clearly
I would like to ask you, do you have CISSP? Do you know if the Industry Panel does a strict evaluation of Certifications or do they evaluate 'conceptually' your experience based on your resume. The point is I want to apply as a communications specialist, and there is no such certification as CISSP.
Regarding the dates, it looks like I lost a train, as I've heard the meet every 12 weeks, so they should be meeting next october 12th ... Am I late...
Does anybody know about the panel's timeline.
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!

I found the Guidelines, I will send my email, I have the resume ready, made it for ACS last year.
The point yet is I don´t know how to certify my experience in DataComm.
Hope they consider the case, and ask for more information if not convinced.
Thanks

Re: Got it!! STNI medical request/pcc
Sylvia, thank you very much!!
Well, most of the Industry Standard certifications that i have completed are based on the actual products deployed in a computer Network environment, (Cisco, Nortel etc) and as CISSP is just plain "THEORY", - may b some CISSP folks wont agree with me - i think that Industry Assessing panel will evaluate based on the product certifications/qualifications/work experience/ACS assessment. Another thing is that if you want to certify CISSP, there is a long queue for exam enrollment at the ISC2!!!!(Not sure abt the status now, but when i checked last time it was 1~ 3 months or something)
If you are applying as a communication specialist, plz let me knw your project experiences, so that we can try to get CV optimised and also which certs can fit the same.
As far as the nomination timelines STNI-VIC is concerned, i am very confused when the Industry Panel have a meet,so its better to send your best CV and hope for the best
Best Regards,
Mohan

I sent my CV yesterday :-))))
I have several Cisco certifications, CCSP(security), CCNA, CCDA, specialization in Wireless and a couple more tests. But I don't have CCIE, neither CISSP. I did look at ISC2 page some time ago, but I did not feel 'motivated' enough to dedicate so much time studying (bad decision really).
I sent my CV, same as I sent ACS, it describes briefly some projects that I worked in, I am not too optimistic though. I know I have worked in Communications for 10 years, but it is not easy to demonstrate.
I would really like to speed up my application, as I am "April-rush", so the last one in the queue!!! It's frustrating.
Thanks !!

Hi Sylvia,
I think we are sailing in the same boat as far as certifications are concerned!!I have CCNA, CCNP, Cisco PIX, Checkpoint and also a Hitachi ATM/FE certification.Currently working on VPN implementation on PIX.
Felt the same when i think of CISSP, but lot of companies test your knowledge on Information Security esp BS standards, which i am not aware of.
u dont have to worry...your nomination will be a breeeeze ..3 or 4 weeks MAX!
Best Regards,
Mohan
