Default Getting New Baby a Visa

Hi all, just wondered if anyone can help. We have our PR visas and have validated the same. Am now due a new baby in a couple of months time and wondered how we go about getting the new baby a visa. We originally used a company to process our visa application so are completely unsure where to start doing the babys visa request on our own. We also have two expired UK passports with our visas in (have renewed the passports), how do we get the visas placed into our new passports. Thanks.

You need to get a Child's visa,

To get your visas in your new passports, you will need to contact the Aus High Commission in London

The process for getting our sons visa was very straight forward. Due to a tight schedule they turned it around in less than a week. We posted off my new passport to the evidencing team and I got a new visa stamp.

All painless and didn't need to use an agent. Good luck with it all.

Poppet, am only just filling in my babies application form and am getting a bit daunted by it all, we are supposed to leave the UK in Sept to head back to Oz, I noticed that you said yours was through within a week, did you got to Australia House and lodge it personally (and did you have to make an appointment or can you just turn up). Also did you baby have to have a medical?

I also notice that you say you had your visa transferred to your new passport, is this something they also do whilst you wait (and do the relevant persons need to be persent) and both mine and my middle childs passports have been renewed, but we carry our old passports around with us that have the visas in!!!)

Regards, Corinnex

There should be enough time to get it done provided all documentation is in order and you don't let yourself be gripped by indecision causing a delay in application.

London is usually fairly good at doing child visas. But do not book flights without visa granted for child.

Thanks JAJ, got the form processed and took personally with OH to Australia House in London and lodged the application there. They said that we would hear within 10 days with a case officer, today is day 10 and so far heard nothing!! lol (will let them off though as they dont start work yet lol!!). Just wondering if anyone knows the rough timings on these visas being processed? we spoke to an agent who told us 2/3 months but at Australia House we were told 3/4 months!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant believe either take sooooooo long considering its just a new addition to the family!!!

Any advice wld be appreciated as am getting soooo stressed that it is going to take ages and need to fly end Sept.
